Hidden bias

I have been watching with some interest the interplay between Singapore and Australia over the fate of drug smuggler Khoa Nguyen. CNN of course has always blatantly displayed their view on many things...here is a hidden version. Go here:
http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/11/30/australia.singapore.ap/
Did you see the poll? Did you notice the bias?
Who said drug smuggling was a non-violent crime? Rightly or wrongly, that is a value judgment that ignores great deals of destruction. It is implicitly making a statement that will affect the outcome of the poll and as such is quite biased.
A caveat...I believe bias is not always a bad thing, even in media presentation. I just think it should be pointed out when it is subtle.

This has been upsetting me for the past week. They have not only played God by executing this man, they have violated international law. What a sick government regime. And why do you feel that his actions were violent? While not ethical according to many, he didn't go out and shoot or hit anybody.

What mitigating circumstances? The idiot was caught trafficking drugs. Do they mean the political aspect? Cause if politics override the law then it is no longer the law. It's just some suggestions that non-connected people have to folow.

As to playing God by executing this man, no they haven't. Romans 13:1-4 says that they excercised the authority given to them by God.

And Drew's saying that while the act of trafficking or selling drugs isn't violent, there is a great deal of violence connected with it and whether that is or is not a violent crime because of the connection to violence, this pole has made the decision already.

Incidentally, have you ever read the Old Testament?
