Read at your own risk

Been working on my Spanish and have hit a road block. Translation; I might be writing angry here. You have been warned.

Now, there are a couple things to discuss here. First off, I am going to have to refer back to something Will Rogers alluded to when the Mississippi floods were going on and there was a feeling in some parts of the country that, because the victims were overwhelmingly black, less could...or, to be honest, should...be done. And he said something along the lines of "It don't matter if they is white or black, the Good Lord made people in such a way that they require about the same amount of food, it don't matter what color the skin is."
Okay, it is farther from a direct quote than I thought it would be but the point remains. If medicine is needed, it does not matter if the person is old, young, tall, short, thin, fat, smart, stupid, white, black, yellow, purple, or a mixture of the same. People are people, and we need to care about every single one of them equally. Separate but equal proved to be fatally flawed and there is no reason to believe that will change any time soon. Not as long as people have prejudices, and that is something we will always have, for good or ill.
But my point is this; maybe the problem is not the quantity of medicines in "black" neighborhood pharmacies...maybe the problem is too much medication if "white" neighborhoods.
We have a society that is so afraid of pain we cannot live with it for even a few minutes. If we have a hang-nail...it is time to head for the medicine cabinet. If we eat too much ice cream and get a headache...medicine cabinet. If we are picking our nose, shove our finger too deep, and start bleeding...well, then we have more severe problems, but that doesn't stop us popping pain pills.
Maybe the problem here is overreliance on the wonders of modern medicine and a little too less reliance on living life.
