The End of an Era

This is a couple of things. It is my 1350th post, for one. It is also most likely my last one.

Over the last few years I have covered a lot of ground. I have covered immigration and gone after both sides, those who promote and those who strongly object to illegal. I have discussed at length numerous issues of interest to Native Americans. I have analyzed political issues of the day. I have discussed my family happenings, both immediate and extended. I have discussed trips I have taken. I have eulogized deceased friends, events surrounding my Mom's death, and events surrounding the deaths of friends. I have supported on some things and attacked on others the positions of people ranging from Bush to Clinton to England to Italy and more. I have brought to light fallacies regarding evolution, global warming, Kosovo, Iraq, and more. And I have written a lot of stuff that I thought was very, very funny.

However, my habit of not falling into any carefully carved niches means I manage to irritate everybody...friends, family, random strangers. For the last year the pace of criticism has been increasing. I have been lambasted for subject material, for links, both permanent and those within my own pieces, and other things.

And I have decided it just isn't worth it anymore. Writing used to be fun. It no longer is. The give & take was something I enjoyed. I don't any longer. So I am done.

I think some bubble headed bleach blond from Boston probably said it best:

Whatever.

Adios.

You are kidding, right?

Writing is a compulsion. I think it would be easier for me to stop drinking water.

It is also therapeutic. And you are good at it.

Please keep blogging!
